Indulge in a Taste of Summer from the Garden of England

Those fresh tastes of summer. The moment the smallest nibble conjures a memory of sunny, carefree days; when fruit is sweet and delicious and nothing beats the taste of juicy strawberries or plump, tangy raspberries.

Speciality food producer Garden of England has cleverly captured a Taste of Summer in a jar. Their comprehensive range of seasonal English preserves is entirely made using English grown fruit and vegetables.

The aptly named Summer Berry Compote is a flavoursome mix of English strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants and blackcurrants blended with a smidgen of sugar. Garden of England compotes are store cupboard staples providing shortcuts for fruit crumbles, cheesecakes or simply as a topper for breakfast granola. The Rhubarb & Redcurrant Compote, however, is also the perfect tangy partner to sweet meringues and roulades.

Tastes of Summer are not just confined to sweet fruit flavours. Picnics, barbecues and alfresco lunches are always enhanced when some flavoursome savoury accompaniments are featured on the table. Garden of England’s Cucumber Relish has to be a staple Summer item. The crunch of English cucumbers perfectly married with a delicate mix of herbs and spices brings out the absolute best of a generously slathered barbecued burger, hot dog or chop. For a light summer lunch, the relish works equally well with cold poached salmon.

A selection of Garden of England’s range is now available from Lakeland.
