The 2016 Review
2016 has been busy and varied, so here’s a very brief review of the year at Splat Marketing & PR – providers of specialist food and hospitality & marketing and PR.
Christmas PR Coverage
In July, we attended Christmas in July events to introduce brands to journalists, food writers and bloggers and also headed to the major publishing houses to undertake desk visits to introduce brands and leave samples. On the run-up to Christmas we worked hard to secure some fantastic coverage for our fabulous clients. The work paid off and here’s just a snapshot of titles that ran features:
- Daily Telegraph
- Financial Times
- Woman & Home
- delicious.
- The Simple Things
- Take a Break Christmas
- Eat In
In September, we were back on the road again at Bloggers Festivals enticing bloggers in London and Manchester with our tasty treats! This led to digital coverage in the form of competitions and product reviews with many food and lifestyle bloggers.
Nuts about Walnuts
Len Goodman loves them (and so do I) so I’m lucky that PR client Opies is the only commercial producer in the UK! This year, our PR effort was concentrated on Pickled Walnuts which paid off with a press trip by The Daily Telegraph and producer features in Woman & Home and Country Homes & Interiors. There were also product features in Take a Break and a fab mention by Nigel Barden on Radio 2 (and so the list goes on).
Official Opening
Splat Marketing & PR were pleased to handle the media relations for South Caernarfon Creameries’ official opening by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. We worked closely with the Clarence House communications team and secured local and trade media coverage for the event.
Cheese Awards Event PR
Splat Marketing & PR were appointed media contact for the inaugural Great British Cheese Awards as our food PR client Peter’s Yard was lead sponsor. We ere obviously involved in all aspects of the event, from initial promotion, meeting with the press at the launch evening to post-event coverage. We secured a wide selected of media coverage in trade, regional and consumer titles, including a piece in the Guardian.
